2006 Tiger Claw Elite Grand Champion Requirements

There are nine (9) Grand Champions. The three (3) Categories of Grand Champions are Musical, Forms and Weapons. Each of these three categories is divided into three (3) age groups: 11 & under, 12-17, 18+. Only two competitors will face off for each Grand Champion event.
    Musical Grand Champion:
    1. Winners of one (1) Musical Division are qualified to compete for the Grand Champion face off. There are only two (2) divisions for each musical Grand Champion, so if one competitor wins both divisions, he/she is automatically declared the winner.
    2. Seven (7) judges will score the competitors. Each judge will indicate his or her choice for the winner based solely on the performance in the final face off. No scores will be given.
    Forms and Weapons Grand Champion:
    1. The two competitors for the Grand Champion face offs in forms and weapons (6 total Grand Champions events) will be determined by which competitors win the most Division Championships in its category. If one competitor wins all the divisions, he/she is automatically declared the winner.
    2. If two competitors win an equal number of Division Championships and are both vying for the second spot in the Grand Champion face off, the two division winning scores from the Grand Champion categories will be totaled. The highest will progress to the face off.
    3. If no competitor wins multiple divisions, the two competitors with the highest divisional champion scores will progress to the face off.
    4. If there is a tie between two or more competitors, the high score that was eliminated in the division championship score will be added back to the competitor’s total.
    5. If there is still a tie then the low score will be added back to the competitor’s total.
    6. In the case that there still is a tie, all tied competitors will be included in the face off.
    7. Seven (7) judges will score the competitors. Each judge will indicate his or her choice for the winner based solely on the performance in the final face off. No scores will be given.
